Drop is a distributed workplace which means none of us work out of an office. The majority of our team works out of the Bay Area & our Taiwan office, but we’re growing to include remote roles across the United States and Canada.
This is a remote position and can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance department and be responsible for the preparation of financial reports and accounts reconciliation duties for our company. You will have inherent leadership qualities and the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting for all financial operations. This position will be reporting directly to the Controller.
Here is what you will do as part of the team:
Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance to GAAP and within our established closing schedule
Complete monthly and quarterly accounts reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
Analyze financial statements for discrepancies, fluctuations and other issues that should be brought to the Controller’s attention.
Monthly reviews of expense variances with each department lead
Calculate and file required monthly, quarterly and annual state and local taxes and business registrations
Assist other members of accounting team in vendor payment maintenance, resolution and communication
Participate in audits by assisting in the preparation of requested schedules and PBC’s
Help train, lead and development staff accountants and other members of the team
And here are the skills and experience you will need to be successful:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management required
5+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years in a senior level role; public accounting experience a plus
Working knowledge of task management software (Asana) and CRM (Zendesk)
Strong problem solving, research and analytical skills
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Experience with inventory management a plus
Ability to function well in a team-oriented, high-energy and continuously developing environment
