Backed by Cowboy Ventures and a stellar group of investors, we raised $2.5M in seed funding to build an unstoppable team, product, and community. Our recent launch was featured in TechCrunch and Crunchbase, with previous features in Domino, People Home and more. The Landing is looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our engineering team through the next phase of growth. This role will report directly to our CEO.

Who You Are
We're looking for a proven engineering manager and contributor to build a stellar product and a high performing engineering organization. You are our dream candidate if you demonstrate the following qualities:
Strong leadership qualities - You are calm under pressure, methodically organized, and have a track record of building and motivating teams around deadlines and objectives. Your communication skills are stellar, and you are known for being able to see the forest through the trees. We are an ambitious startup with a massive amount of growth expected over the coming years - we want someone who's equally ambitious and ready to grow in their leadership role with our team as we scale and change the way the world creates and designs.
Proven engineering manager - You have successfully managed high performing engineering teams at rapid growth startups. You have proven your comfort with and ability to thrive under the demands and ownership of this position.
Technical excellence - You are an expert builder with a track record of creating world-class products, making the right one-way-door technical decisions, and shipping features to aggressive timelines.
Hands-on builder - You thrive in a role where you can dive in, get your hands dirty, and be a player-coach. No task is beneath you and you love building from the ground up.

What You'll Do
Lead our Engineering organization and manage, develop, and support our team of engineers
Act as right-hand technical person to Ellie, our CEO, in setting product timelines and priorities
Own all Engineering KPIs and manage the team to execute on our product roadmap by allocating resourcing and managing timelines
Bring a high level of technical expertise, guidance, and decision making to all areas of the organization including infrastructure, payments, mobile, internal tools, devops, across the short and long term roadmap
Collaborate closely with our co-founders and Product, Design, Marketing, User Research and Data teams on strategic planning, product development and execution
Rapidly scale our Engineering organization by forecasting resourcing needs, hiring and retaining exceptional talent, and designing organizational systems to help us scale effectively
Establish a world class engineering culture dedicated to craft, quality, and impact
Lead with a passion for creators and a commitment to our core values
What You'll Need
7+ years experience including leadership experience at a startup, ideally during the rapid scaling phase.
2+ years experience managing an engineering team. Demonstrated excellence in managing a team to achieve product milestones at high velocity, making resourcing decisions, scoping projects, and continuously making prioritization calls.
Passion for the craft of engineering plus high technical expertise across infrastructure, architecture, mobile development, and devops.
Demonstrated ability to achieve product excellence through working collaboratively between Engineering, Product, Design, and Business functions.
Passion for creating structure to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing startup environment. Track record of successfully shipping quality product on aggressive timelines.
Experience building and scaling web applications. Our current stack includes React, TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, GraphQL.
Computer Science (or similar) background.
Experience working on a design platform or building for creators is a plus.
100% Distributed - our team works remotely and flexibly, but you will have to be available to collaborate on U.S. timezone–friendly hours
