Job Description

Mighty Networks is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform ushering in a new era of creative business built on community. Its SaaS platform serves brands and creators “with a purpose” who want to bring their content, community, online courses, events, and memberships together in one place. 

Similar to a Shopify store, with a Mighty Network, a brand or creator has their own online destination with their choice of features and the ability to charge for digital subscriptions and products under their own brand and instantly available on their own website and native mobile apps. 

Position Overview

The Director of Cloud Infrastructure/Operations will be in charge of providing inspired leadership for the operation of Mighty Networks. This involves partnering with executives in making important policy and strategic decisions to further enhance the growth and culture of the company. 

As the Director of Cloud Infrastructure/Operations you will aid in defining, implementing and revising operational policies and guidelines for the organization, and will report to our CTO, as well as manage and grow the operations team. The overall goal of this role is to ensure that as an organization, Might Networks is continually developing and executing new growth directives. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and attract talent to grow the Operations team to new levels of performance in an inclusive and geographically distributed environment
  • Foster a culture of growth and collaboration, coaching contributors to reach their full potential
  • Motivate the team and enthusiastically rally them around delivering against a wide variety of organizational initiatives.
  • Construct and maintain an environment of integrity, trust, high quality, and continuous improvement
  • Advocate for engineering excellence and contribute to systems architecture and high-level structure of our applications
  • Own the architecture and strategy to bring our production infrastructure into the next level
  • Participate in SOC2 compliance
  • Help drive culture and process improvements across our engineering organization with input to the broader company

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of operational engineering experience, preferably at a rapidly scaling startup.
  • 8+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers
  • A strong results and outcome-driven focus, in-depth understanding of agile principles. Demonstrated expertise in running Agile operations teams in an enterprise setting
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor managers, principal engineers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in software engineering best practices and the ability to influence teams to adopt the practices especially in the area of operations.
  • Knowledgeable and opinionated on operational procedures and best-practices, including containerization, autoscaling, CI pipelines, deployment deployment
  • Experience, setting up and running on-call duties across a team of operations and DevOps engineers
  • A proficiency in security best practices across cloud-based environments
  • Strong empathy for our customers and a passion for exceeding their expectations, always!
  • A passion for learning, continuous improvement, sharing, and working in a team environment
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
