About the Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Due to the high demand for our product, we're hiring a founding Sales Development Representative to partner with the executive team as we grow our customer base. We’re looking for passionate and creative people who will be catalysts for innovation in our organization and our mission. The ideal candidate will be smart, energetic, and motivated to capitalize on our proven account-based prospecting strategy.  

Our growing and nimble company is based in Virginia and we serve customers across the U.S. and Europe. The SVT Robotics founding team is comprised of industry experts, and our investors include some of the country’s top VCs.  

About the job 

The SDR will work with leads and prospects, many of whom have engaged with our content and expressed an interest. As an expert on SVT Robotics, you’ll demonstrate our value proposition and seamlessly pitch the SOFTBOT Platform as part of an introductory discovery call. The goal will be to connect with prospects, validate their interest, introduce them to the platform, verify their fit, and connect them with an Account Executive. Unlike more junior SDR roles, we're looking for someone with the gravitas to confidently speak with prospects, uncover their needs and challenges, and validate their interest. The role may evolve over time, but here are key functions and responsibilities:  

  • Book qualified meetings for the Account Executives by running through sales cadences consisting of (but not limited to) cold calls, targeted emails, social engagement, leveraged connections etc., ultimately generating a sales pipeline 
  • Target customer profiles and research specific target accounts for outbound outreach to locate accurate contact and account information 
  • Conduct account-specific research and develop handcrafted messages that will get the attention of executives  
  • Manage high levels of activity metrics through a tiered contact strategy, reaching out to 50 to 300 prospects per day via phone, email, and social media 
  • Leverage tools for listening to your customers online so you can respond in a timely, relevant way 


The ideal candidate will possess these key characteristics, traits, and skills: 

  • A great attitude - at SVT Robotics, we call it “being exothermic” – giving more energy than you consume, proactively helping those around you   
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills 
  • Lack of intimidation by, and willingness to make, cold calls; possessing a strong phone presence with the capacity to quickly establish rapport 
  • Objection handling skills to listen to the complaint, understand it, respond, and confirm the objection is resolved 
  • Tenacity to turn a rejection into a meeting by delivering a pointed description of SVT Robotics' value in a consultative and strategic manner 
  • The confidence and willingness to interface with executive-level buyer personas  
  • Strong writing acumen that can capture the attention of senior executives  
  • A positive and competitive spirit led by intrinsic motivation and a high sense of self awareness 
  • Passion for and enthusiasm about the tech startup/robotics space 
  • A highly productive, metrics-driven approach to results with the ability to track metrics in a vigilant manner: experience using HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and ZoomInfo is preferred 
  • The willingness to go the extra mile, with a strong work ethic that’s team oriented and self-directed  
  • One to two years' experience in a tech industry prospecting role — with a career pathway interest to an Account Executive role
