Job Description

StyleSeat is looking for an experienced Director of Product Marketing to join the Marketing team and lead the direction, planning, and execution of go-to-market strategies. You’ll lead key work like user segmentation, positioning, messaging and drive the strategy to increase awareness and adoption. You will conduct research and leverage customer and market insights to drive the strategy for StyleSeat’s new and existing routes to market.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the short and long-term business, overseeing programs across the entire product marketing landscape including GTM strategy, positioning and messaging, pricing and packaging, and customer, market and competitor research.

What you’ll do

Main Responsibilities 

  • Deeply understand Professional and Consumer customers and how to engage them. 
  • Define, manage, and implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new and existing product initiatives including: audience definition, product positioning, comms architecture, and launch strategy.
  • Lead the direction, planning, and execution of StyleSeat’s go-to-market strategy and key work like customer segmentation, positioning, messaging and drive the strategy to increase awareness and adoption.
  • Become a trusted partner to the product team and establish a continuous feedback loop that encompasses customer input, market trends, and competitive factors to influence product development.
  • Continue to evolve product positioning and key messaging through thorough understanding of the product, industry, audience, and key competitors.
  • Conduct user, market, and competitive research to better understand and evangelize market trends and apply key learnings to product roadmap and marketing strategy
  • Guide how StyleSeat communicates with customers throughout their journey. Craft, validate, refine and evangelize product positioning and messaging, and tailoring value props by audience, vertical, segment, and other key dimensions.
  • Enable the marketing and support teams to amplify your efforts by creating content and guidelines for external marketing campaigns (blog, help articles, how-to videos, emails, etc). 
  • Generate market and competitive intelligence to help our Product team build high-value, differentiated products, and inform our company’s future vision and strategy.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Data and Product teams to refine our pricing and packaging strategy to create maximum customer value and accelerate revenue growth.
  • Support smooth and effective product launches that drive results. Partner with product, customer success, and marketing teams to help execute a product launch process that covers research, testing, content creation, training, and measurement.
  • Become the voice of the customer. Create deep customer understanding, document it, and then infuse it into the minds, plans, and execution of all teams at the company.
  • Coach and mentor the Product Management and Research team. Identify and recruit top PMM talent to build your team.

Some year 1 deliverables 

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of go-to-market plans working closely with Product, Design, Paid Acquisition, Social, Content, Lifecycle, and PR.
  • Own and implement our pricing strategy plan
  • Influence product division and road map, team growth 

Success Metrics 

  • Increase conversion rate, sign up to active and engaged pros 
  • Increase adoption rate, pros utilizing new features and payments processing 

Who you are 

Successful candidates can come from a variety of backgrounds, yet here are some of the critical and nice to have experiences we’re looking for:

  • 8+ years of product marketing experience at Marketplace companies with a track record of successfully launching new products and features.
  • 3+ years of leading and managing a team.
  • Strategic vision, yet crafty execution. You must think big and be able to get into the weeds.
  • Experience owning and managing user research.
  • A communicator with the ability to distill complex information into understandable, actionable, persuasive assets.
  • Customer-centric with experience in generating qualitative and quantitative insights and using those insights to inform your marketing strategies.
  • Ability to understand customer needs, create customer value, and highlight competitive differentiation through packaging and pricing.
  • Detail-oriented with a track record of flawless execution and exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details and the ability to articulate objectives, strategies and tactics clearly across teams.
  • You're a relationship-builder and good at coordinating team members of all seniority levels and driving them towards completing actions against a common goal.
  • Experience transforming concepts, features, and capabilities into key messages and compelling narratives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional work with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working effectively across Marketing, Sales, CS and Product orgs.
  • You have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present to audiences of all levels and sizes (company-wide to Executive team).
  • You have deep Product Marketing expertise. You've successfully developed and driven the adoption of company and product-level positioning and messaging frameworks. You've created pricing + packaging initiatives that have resulted in revenue growth. You're an expert in working with PMs to develop market intelligence and business cases to inform roadmap development. You have experience building competitive + market intelligence programs

Salary Range

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The career level we are targeting for this role has a base pay between $163,300 and $212,100. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. Base pay ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future.
